🕯️ Death Midwifery &

Soulful End-of-Life Support

💜 Helping You Honor

the Journey of Life’s Final Chapter

Death is sacred — as sacred as birth.

It invites us to face the mystery of life with open eyes and an open heart.
We honor the beginning of life with reverence, love, and presence.
We can do the same at the end.

As a certified Death Midwife, I hold space for the soul to leave the body
just as midwives hold space for the soul to arrive.
It’s one of life’s greatest privileges — to sit with someone as they take their final breath.
To offer presence.
To wait patiently.
To witness the sacred.

With over 20 years of experience — including training caregivers across the country as a National Trainer for The Twilight Brigade — I’ve seen how healing, graceful, and even beautiful this final passage can be.

Whether you're supporting a dying loved one, preparing for your own transition, or walking through grief — you don’t have to do it alone.

I’m here to walk with you — through the mystery, the mess, and the meaning — with reverence, compassion, and light.

Because every life — and every death — deserves to be honored with dignity and love.

Q: What’s the difference between a Medical Advance Directive and a Spiritual Advance Directive

— and do I need both?

A: Yes — they’re different, and you need both.

A Medical Advance Directive is a legal document that outlines your choices for medical care if you’re unable to speak for yourself. It tells doctors what you want — or don’t want — when it comes to things like resuscitation, life support, or feeding tubes. Every state has different requirements, so make sure you check with your particular state and what they need.

But that’s only part of the story.

A Spiritual Advance Directive speaks to your soul.

It includes your wishes for emotional and spiritual care at the end of life — the kind of environment you want, the people you’d like nearby, music, prayers, rituals, closure, and how you want to feel as you transition. It’s your personal expression of peace, meaning, and dignity.

The medical directive protects your body.
The spiritual directive honors your spirit.

Creating both is one of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself and your loved ones.

Don't leave it up to guesswork — let your voice be known, all the way through the final breath.

💕A Gratitude Letter from Kris...💕

"I am so grateful to you, Shelley, for all that you did for our family as we prepared for the unfathomable reality that my sister, Nancy, my son’s aunt, was coming to the end of life.

I will never be able to thank you enough for everything you did to help Nanc make the transition in such a sacred and beautiful way.

You and she had been dear friends for a very long time but the support you gave her was above and beyond friendship. Really, without you I don’t know how we would have handled any of it….what we would have done.

You were our beacon of light and love. Every time I tell the story of how you prepared her I am more aware of how you showed up for,

and helped prepare, us all.

I can still hear you say, “We’re gonna love you up, Nanc, we’re gonna love you up!” Her face glowed when you said that. You gave her a safe place by surrounding her with love and by letting her know you were doing the same for her greatest treasures, her nephew and me.

Words can never express what a wonderful gift you gave the three of us. Words can never express what a wonderful gift you are! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. ‘Love you in a big way, Shelley,’ as Nanc would say, ‘love you in a big way!"
